The BAD Show

Hey everyone,

Welcome to the new / up-cycled iteration of this platform, formally known as Height Drop.

Why The BAD SHOW?

In short, because those are my initials. My full name is Brandon Andrew Douglass. There’s nothing else other than my “self” that I authentically offer you on this program. I put “self” in quotations because it’s worth remembering that there is no name, word, or even language capable of capturing the infinite dimensions of that term.

Better yet, The BAD Show pretty well sums up everything you need to know about this program.

  • Firstly, that it is bad in every sense of the word. As in ‘not at all good’ and also as in ‘totally and radically good.’

  • It also reminds us that it is okay to be naughty, and that it’s even virtuous to embrace our dark side.

In fact, one of the biggest issues I see in humanity today is the disowning of our “bad.” We spend insane amounts of energy judging each other, and fail to recognize that in order to create solutions for “bad” situations, we need to accepting the “bad” as part of us. Only then will we respond with love rather than the fear and anger that so often accompanies our judgments.

  • For example, it takes no consideration or debate to remove your hand from a burning stove because you recognize your hand as part of yourself. You don’t mock the hand and point out how stupid it is for being on the stove (at least not while it is on there).

With this program, I challenge us to reexamine our relationship to “BAD.” It is only by giving our conscious attention to our wounds and shadow aspects that they can become part of a healthy whole.

That said, the last few paragraphs could be described as one big bad judgment of judgment itself. And to that I say, life is a paradox, what the fuck do you want from me? Yes judging things might sound “bad” from what I’ve just wrote, but we of course need to embrace judgment as well. My point is that most of us are too quick to judge, and we use judgement as a weapon when it serves best as a compass. I understand that many people lack discernment and would do well to practice better judgment.

Now to the second part of the title: Show.

I have recorded thousands of hours of content in my life, and I have noticed something. The moment the camera comes out, things change. This isn’t to say that things are any less beautiful, authentic, or valuable. It is only to recognize that there is a difference between living life on camera and living it off camera. Physics has proven that even sub atomic particles behave differently when someone is watching, so what hope could we possibly have?

Why be here with me?

You don’t need to engage with this platform to live your best life. That said, here’s what might make it worth your time:

The one thing you may actually gain is awareness. For example, you might come to recognize or realize something from the insights or energy shared here. Equally, this program may help you facilitate your experiences of joy, grief, validation, isolation, or other emotions. Perhaps you get inspired in some way. That would be great and I would be glad to know if this channel has proved useful to you in some way.

Ultimately, you’re probably here for the same reasons I’m here:

  • Connect with life and the people in it

  • Experience and discover new things

  • Share insights

  • Express creativity

  • For the pure joy of it

Thank you to all who are here. It is meaningful to me!
